Today starts the Year of the Rabbit according to the Spring Festival, or as it is more often referred to, the Chinese New Year.  If you want to learn more about this celebration we have many resources to recommend.

The Encyclopedia of Contemporary Chinese Culture, edited by Edward L. Davis, is a treasure trove of information about Chinese culture with a very informative entry about the New Year festival.

There is an entry about the Chinese New Year in Holidays Symbols and Customs which is available in Gale Virtual Reference.

Finally, Chinese New Year wouldn’t be complete without food, so why not try making some Chinese New Years dishes?  You can find some recipes over at the BBC by clicking on this link: Chinese New Year recipes.
