According to <a href=\"https:\/\/opensource.com\/resources\/what-open-education\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Open Source<\/a>, Open Education is a philosophy of teaching that promotes the belief that everyone should have access to high-quality educational experiences and resources and work towards eliminating barriers to this goal.<\/p>\n<p>What does Open Education look like? If you are a professor or an instructor this may look like incorporating free and accessible learning materials into your curriculum. If you are a student, this can look like a class that does not require you to purchase textbooks.<\/p>\n<h2>Featured Events<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Literacy: A student-led panel. March 6th, 8:00 am.<\/li>\n<li>Cost Savings and Beyond: Demonstrating Impact and Effectiveness with Open Education. March 7th, 12pm-1pm.<\/li>\n<li>Open Publishing Platform Sampler hosted by University of Oregon. March 8th, 1pm-2pm.<\/li>\n<li>OER Reading and Party, a virtual happy hour to celebrate OER publications!
