Open WA – a pathway to OER

Last modified date

OER post

Recently the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges released a new Open Educational Resources (OERs) website. Open WA provides information on how to find and use learning materials that can be remixed, reused, and redistributed free from copyright restrictions. There’s even a handy Attribution Builder that takes you through the process step by step.

OERs are important because they result in cost savings for students, can address multiple learning styles, improve student information literacy, and increase student interest in the subject being taught.
