This week’s CTC Book Pick comes from Librarian, Laura Negal! Her recommendation is the incredibly enlightening, 33 Things Every Girl Should Know About Women’s History, edited by Tonya Bolden.

“This book should really be called “33 Things Every PERSON Should Know About Women’s History.” Although some of it is written for a younger audience, I was astounded (and a little ashamed) by what I didn’t know. Because of the multitude of writers, the book avoids taking just one perspective on women’s history and tells the stories of women of color, women with different abilities and socioeconomic backgrounds, the LGBTQ community, and the men who have also fought against oppression. Whether you’re interested in music, sports, poetry, politics, quotes, or timelines, this book connects the things you’re doing today with the women who made it possible.”

Check out this book, and others, in our Discover Catalog! Remember, many items are also available through Summit, so if we don’t have it, we may know someone who does.
